Campus Safety Awareness Week at Texas A&M

September 19, 2017 by New Student and Family Programs

NCSAM LOGO

September has been recognized as National Campus Safety Awareness Month since 2008. In supporting this effort, Texas A&M is hosting Campus Safety Awareness Week this week, September 18-22. We have some information on the campus safety initiatives Texas A&M has developed for your student that are available this week and throughout the year.

A series of programs are being held this week to educate students, faculty, and staff on a variety of campus safety topics. The schedule below includes an overview of the week’s events. A detailed schedule is available here.

In addition, the Office of Safety and Security provides several resources that are available throughout the year to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.

The 12th Man Emergency Playbook outlines procedures on how students, faculty, and staff should respond in case of an evacuation, severe weather, fire, medical emergency, or a personal safety emergency.

Texas A&M University has an emergency operations plan which describes how university departments and local emergency responders will respond during a variety of emergencies on campus.

Additional resources can be found on the Emergency Preparedness Website.

Who we are

As part of the Aggie Family, we want to be your partner in supporting your student(s) at Texas A&M. Your roles as parents and mentors are as important as ever. Studies show that parental involvement increases the chances that a college student will be successful on campus and improves graduation rates.
