What They Say
Here from past students:
Being part of NSC en Español has been a highlight of my experience at Texas A&M! I have met new students and their Aggie families at a pivotal moment in their college journey when everything is still new and a bit daunting. With my fellow NSC en Español interpreters, we inspire confidence in new students and their support systems, showing them that A&M is filled with resources and a community where they can find a home away from home!
Coming from a family where English was our second language, I understand that navigating a language we are not 100% familiar with can be challenging. That is why I chose to participate in NSC en Español as an English to Spanish interpreter; to help others understand and clarify information in their native language. Seeing families and guests feel relieved and grateful for this inclusivity gave me a deeper perspective on the experience of someone who has English as a second language and gave me a sense of fulfillment knowing that I am helping others understand the college experience with their upcoming student to Texas A&M University.
